Description:
Silicon photonic IC is developed by relying on CMOS process with based on hybrid silicon photonics integration platform.
On-chip integration of low-drive voltage high-bandwidth modulator (MZM) based on Mach-Zehnder interferomete, the refractive index of the waveguide changes under the influence of electric field, thus realising the phase modulation of light, and the conversion of phase modulation to intensity modulation through Mach-Zehnder interferomete.
The phase-to-intensity modulation conversion is achieved using Mach-Zehnder interferometers. The Mach-Zehnder interferometer-based modulator (MZM) with low drive voltage and high bandwidth modulates the phase of light by altering the refractive index of the waveguide under the influence of an electric field.
